Volvo is entering its new ethanol powered Volvo C30 racer in the WTCC (World Touring Car Championship) at Brands Hatch on the 26 - 27th of July. The car which has already acheived three out of seven pole positions in the Swedish Touring Car Championship (STCC) is the only ethanol E85 powered car in that series. Volvo believes it can replicate this success at Brands Hatch race circuit in Kent, UK. To see it in action as well as all the other stripped down production cars be sure to head there next weekend.
Above all else, it`s a Volvo. Since Volvo Cars began showing concepts at the annual Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) tradeshow five years ago only one rule has been set: all standard safety systems must remain intact and functioning no matter how extensive the modifications made to the vehicle.

MOVE OVER
Volvo used to be known as the matriarch of all models – nurturing, safe and respectfully presented. The XC60 concept however is the real wild child of the next generation.
Volvo announced the development of a new bioethanol (E85) racer for the STCC (Swedish Touring Car Championship) - the Volvo C30 Flexifuel STCC.
German tuning and motor sport experts HEICO SPORTIV has developed a spectacular high-performance version of the Volvo S80. With a high-tech aluminium-look exterior and a 350 hp bioethanol engine, the S80 High Performance Concept is destined to be a true attention-grabber at the SEMA show in Las Vegas.

KISS MY GLASS
You don’t need a window sticker to know what kind of a statement the Volvo C30 is spelling out to other compact hatchbacks on the market, as its rear end speaks for itself.

Nether say Nether…
You’ve got to love the vast idiosyncrasies of Europe. Beyond the North Sea the Netherlands lures us in with wild desires and ‘anything goes,’ whereas the Swedes safe, social conscience brought us the Volvo.
